Welcome to my ministry website!
My name is Karen (カレン), and I’m excited to share with you my journey to Japan and how you can invest in my calling and partner in the ministry of seeing future generations of Japanese ministry leaders, communities, and churches flourish.
My website title reflects the Bible verse that has spurred me on in the marathon of this faith journey, Matthew 6:33.
As I press on to follow where Jesus is leading me, this verse has proved His faithfulness to fulfill this promise with every step!
“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you”.
I will be sent out as an initial term career missionary with Mission to the World (MTW).
My initial 2 year term in Japan will consist of a residency with Christ Bible Institute (CBI). In the first year, I hope to contribute my administration and library science skillset in order to support Japanese seminary students, and I will serve with a local church while being a part-time language student. In my second year, I hope to support Gallery Nani, an arts ministry in the same metropolitan area, and explore opportunities to engage in arts, mercy, friendship, and lay counseling ministry while I transition to full-time language study. This initial term will ultimately help me test out a call to long term career missions in Japan and get further exposure and clarification on which ministry areas I can be most effective in.
